New Pattern - Little Joy Dress! June 30, 2016 21:54

Little Joy DressThe Little Joy Dress was inspired many years ago when my niece was tiny. But, at that time I was much more focused on designing and knitting adult sweater garments more-so than for children. Thus, it turned into the adult Joy Lace Tunic.

Since the birth of my son however, my affinity for knitting and designing for children has blossomed, and the Little Joy Dress has finally manifested in the Summer 2016 issue of Knittin' Little!

About the Pattern:

Beginning with a picot cast-on, the body is worked in a lacy tube from the hem to the underarms, then box pleats are used to decrease stitches at the front. The back is knit for a little ways in garter stitch to raise the back neck, then extra stitches are cast on for the straps and the yoke is shaped in garter stitch

About the Yarn:

I choose Knit Picks Simply Cotton Organic Sport for the Little Joy Dress. It's 100% organic cotton, and I love the soft feel and drape of this yarn. The organic cotton really feels amazing next to your skin—it's perfect for the baby soft skin of the little one's we love!
