Summer Cast-on Magazine & the Mazar Pullover May 6, 2020 16:22

Something I love about hand-dyed yarn is that the beautiful and unique colors can make a basic stockinette sweater into a piece of art. However, I still need the knitting itself to be somewhat interesting—which is why I think the Mazar Pullover is the perfect pattern for hand-dyed yarn.

This Mazar Pullover pattern has just been published in the Summer 2020 issue of Cast on Magazine. This digital issue is packed with 26 new patterns, including the Longboat Key Tee by Donna Estin, and the Pyramid Top by Arenda Holladay and more.

This seamless pullover is worked from the top down, with ribbed shoulder tabs that flow down into the sleeves and contiguous set-in sleeve shaping. In the video below I explain the construction of this sweater in detail.

Mazar is knitted using Nettle Soft DK from Ancient Arts Fiber, in the Cave Art color. They have so many beautiful hand-dyed colors to choose from, and the drape and feel of the superwash Merino and nettle blend yarn is perfect for this warm-weather tee.

I'm wearing this top with 3" of negative ease, and it feels comfortable, however 0-2" of positive ease is recommended for the best fit.
