About this pattern

The double-layered brim is worked in Stockinette stitch with smaller needles, then a purl round is made as a "turning round" where the brim is folded. The next layer of the brim continues in Stockinette with the larger needle, then stitches are picked up through the cast-on edge and worked with the live stitches to join the two layers. Crown stitches are decreased and ears are created, stuffed and sewn to the crown of the hat.
