New Crochet Summer Cardigan July 17, 2021 16:15
It's been a minute since a new pattern of mine has been published. But now, I'm excited to share the "Summer Cardigan" with you from Issue 112 of Simply Crochet Magazine.
This cardigan is crocheted from the top down. The upper back (and back sleeves) are worked first. Then the fronts (and front sleeves) are started at the back shoulders and crocheted down to the underarm. At the underarm the back and front sleeves are joined, then the fronts and back are worked simultaneously from the underarm down.
The front neck has gradual V-neck shaping, and the lacy front border is worked at the same time as the sweater, so there's minimal "finishing". There is a round of double crochet (UK terms) worked around each sleeve cuff and treble crochet (UK) around the front opening for the buttonband.
The lace pattern flows around the back neck, so the back complements the front.
The sample sweater is created using Luma by The Fibre Co, which is a beautiful blend of wool, cotton, linen and silk. And the magazine also includes a comparable budget friendly suggestion, Stylecraft Life DK.
This pattern is available in issue 112 of Simply Crochet Magazine, available now at retailers and online.
