Firefly Scarf - Free Pattern March 8, 2022 23:54

A great project for using 2 balls of yarn. Two halves are worked in the same way from the end toward the center, then they are joined together using the kitchener stitch. That way both ends look the same as they drape over your shoulders.

Gauge
24 sts and 32 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch; 33 sts in Lace Pattern = 41⁄2" / 11.5 cm. Take time to save time, check your gauge.

PATTERN

First Side
CO 33 sts.
Knit 2 rows.

Work Rows 1–14 of Lace Patt 12 times, then work Row 1 once more.

Slip all sts to st holder or waste yarn. Break yarn.

Second Side
CO 33 sts.
Knit 2 rows.

Work Rows 1–14 of Lace Patt 12 times.
Break yarn leaving approx 18" / 45.5 cm tail of yarn.

Finishing
Slip 33 held sts from first side onto working needle as if preparing to work a WS row. Thread tail onto tapestry needle, then graft sts together using the Kitchener St.

Step 1: Bring threaded tapestry needle through first st on front needle as if to knit and slip this st off needle.
Step 2: Bring threaded tapestry needle through next st on front needle as if to purl and leave st on needle.
Step 3: Bring threaded tapestry needle through first st on back needle as if to purl and slip this st off needle.
Step 4: Bring threaded tapestry needle through next st on back needle as if to knit and leave st on needle.
Rep Steps 1–4 until no sts rem.
