How to Knit the 1/1/1RC Cable April 19, 2016 12:32
This cable technique is used in the Kanti Mama, Kanti Baby and Canyon Lace Tank patterns. It is worked over 3 stitches that are worked in a k1, p1 ribbing as k1, p1, k1. This cable technique will basically switch the places of the first and third stitches (the knit stitches), while keeping the purl stitch in the back of the twist.
Here's how to do it:
Step 1: Bring yarn to front, sl 2 sts to cn and hold in back.
Step 2: Bring yarn behind left needle (in front of cn) and k1.
Step 3: Bring yarn behind cn and return left st from cn to left needle, hold cn in front.
Step 4: Bring yarn in front of left needle and p1; bring yarn to back and return last st from cn to left needle.
Step 5: K1.
Step 6: Continue working the 3 stitches used in the cable as k1, p1 ribbing as established for 5 rows, then work the 1/1/1RC again. Continue to repeat the 1/1/1RC cable on every 6th row.
