New Pattern - Dunlin Jumper May 16, 2016 06:00

Dunlin JumperIssue #60 of Knit Now is out on shelves, and you can see the Dunlin Jumper on the corner of the cover. The pattern is inside, ready to be followed as you knit this sweater for your young friends. The pattern is sized to fit babies 3-months old to children up to 10 years old. It's a classic seamless raglan pattern that can be knit over and over and over…

The sample is knit using Debbie Bliss's Eco Baby yarn at 5.75 stitches per inch. It's a 100% organic cotton sport-weight yarn. Though, I think this sweater would look great in a variety of cotton or wool blends, including merino.

The sleeves and body are knitted separately to the underarms, where they are joined together for the yoke. The yoke is shaped as a raglan, then bound off at the neck. The trims around the body, sleeve cuffs and neckline are worked in garter stitch while the body is knit in k4, p1 ribbing. I'm absolutely loving the contrast of vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines in this sweater.

This Dunlin Jumper is the first in a series for the whole family. The mama and papa versions of this sweater will be coming out later this year! Keep your eyes on this blog, or on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram to learn when they're available.
