In the Norse myths, Sigyn (SIG-in) is the wife of Loki, who is bound to a stone where a snake will eternally drip venom onto him. Sigyn stands over him with a bowl, collecting the venom until it’s full, then empties it and does it again, and again, and again…
The loyalty, endurance and compassion she has is respectable and something I wish to cultivate more of in my own life. Even in the midst of being traumatized herself by witnessing what was done to her sons and husband, she is still compelled to help take away the suffering of others.
This pattern will make a small, shallow felted bowl. Gauge, yarn and needle size are not critical for this design. Choose what you like!

This soaker begins between the legs with a provisional cast-on. The back is worked while shaping the legholes then the back stitches are placed onto a stitch holder or waste yarn. Front stitches are picked up from the provisional cast-on and the legholes are shaped to the same length as the back. The back and front stitches are joined, casting on a few stitches at the top of each leghole. The body is then worked in the round maintaining the garter ridge pattern over the back and working stockinette stitch on the front. The top band is worked in ribbing or with a drawstring to suit your yarn choice.

This versatile pattern may be used with nearly any yarn. You can stick with the gauge and numbers that are given, or put your math-hat on and crunch a few numbers to the formulas given to use any yarn at any gauge. The band is worked in rows, to fit around the head, then the lace for the triangle is centered on the band and worked outward. Then the final rows are worked over the band and the lacy triangle. There's a simple seam, then it's done!

This sweater has a really fun and unique construction. It begins by working the upper body from the center of the back out to the sleeve cuffs. A provisional cast-on is used at the center of the back for an invisible join. The body stitches are picked up along the lower edge of the upper body, then knit down.

A great project for using 2 balls of yarn. Two halves are worked in the same way from the end toward the center, then they are joined together using the kitchener stitch. That way both ends look the same as they drape over your shoulders.
