New Pattern from Knotions - Spanra Legwarmers October 1, 2020 03:30

The October 2020 issue of Knotions Magazine is now up! As we head into cooler weather, it's time to think of stocking up on warm things. The theme of this issue is FIRE, and I'm impressed with the creativity of my fellow designers, in what they've come up with.

My Spanra Legwarmer pattern is a great project to use up some small balls of stash yarn. Beginning colorwork knitters and those more experienced will find this project enjoyable to make.

Although it looks like lots of colors are used, each round of the pattern is worked using only two colors.

Knotions includes links in the pattern to some helpful tutorials, such as: Tips for Fair Isle or Stranded Knitting, How to read a knitting chart, Color Dominance and how to make Lifted increases, which the pattern uses to increase for the calf.

I selected some hot colors for my Spanra Legwarmers, to fit the Fire theme of the October issue, however there are SO MANY color combination possibilities.

The Spanra Legwarmers have a matching sweater pattern—the Spanra Pullover—published by Knit Picks, back in 2017. When that pattern came out, I asked you all what colors you would choose, and together we came up with some great ideas (which you can see here).
