Spanra Color Ideas and Encircled Winner! October 6, 2017 05:42

Thanks to everyone for your comments on the post about Encircled and my Spanra Pullover! There are so many colors of Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Superwash to choose from, the possibilities for this sweater are endless! Below, you can take a look at my renditions of some of the other gorgeous color combos suggested in the comments.

For my own Spanra Pullover, as soon as I have the time to knit one up, I plan on using Noble Heather as the main color, and Almond, Orange, Bamboo Heather, White and Brass Heather as contrast colors. I'm really loving green and orange combos right now! Maybe it's the fall weather getting to me.

Anna says: "Gorgeous pullover! I think I’d use a teal with burgundy, aqua and white for the colorwork."

Georgia really did her research: "Great design! In KnitPicks Wool of the Andres Superwash, I would choose Indigo Heather for the main body color (which is darker than the Amethyst Heather I think that I see here) and for the four (I think) accent colors, I’d choose Marina for the center yoke, along with Persimmon Heather (deeper gold on my screen), and White … In general, my goal would be to get a more intensely hued result. Thanks for the giveaway!"

Kristen says: "The designs are so beautiful!! I would make a hunter or emerald green sweater body, and colors in the yoke would absolutely include a mustard yellow, a midnight blue, and a plum purple."

Katherine wrote: "I think I’d make it in black, with white and gray colorwork, to make it a bit more graphic!"

Sarah picked some colors from Wool of the Andes Worsted yarn. I found some from the Superwash yarn that were close to here colors. She said: "I like the colors as shown. If I had to pick different colors, maybe Lava Heather for MC and then Semolina, Blossom Heather, Papaya Heather, Green Tea Heather, and Oyster Heather for the CCs? I’m not sure though. What do you think of those colors? I’m trying to develop color skills."

Sarah - I love them! Great contrast, and boldness.

Margaret says: "Mustard, grey and real would be amazing I think."

Lee says "What a lovely design! I like the blue palette!" and Toria ponders: "I’ve been looking for a winter jumper to knit and Spanra is definitely top of the list. I was thinking shades of blue with a yellow ‘pop’."

You all have such great imaginations! I didn't get to them all, because there were just so many. The ones I picked to graph were random, and the one's I saw first. I honestly thought I'd done them all, but as I read back through the comments I saw so many more great ideas. The ones above are just a taste of the myriad possibilities!

And, finally…

The Winner of Enchanted is…

The random number generator, picked #14 out of 24 comments. The 14th comment is from Kristen! Who commented "The designs are so beautiful!! I would make a hunter or emerald green sweater body, and colors in the yoke would absolutely include a mustard yellow, a midnight blue, and a plum purple."

Kristen, I'll be in touch via e-mail. Thanks so much to everyone for playing! Happy Knitting everyone!
