Introducing the Everlife Cardigan! November 4, 2020 23:03
Sometimes, a design comes out exactly as I imagined it would. This is one of those times. In my mind, it looked just like this, so I'm very excited to introduce you to the Everlife Cardigan.
The cable / lattice pattern is worked all over the body and sleeves, with touches of colorwork around the trim, and a complementary band of color worked across the chest and upper arms.
The body and sleeves are worked separately from the bottom up to the underarms. The body has waist shaping, for a flattering fit. However this could be worked without the shaping for a more boxy or gender-neutral look.
The seamless construction includes contiguous set-in sleeves, which are my absolute favorite thing in the world right now. This means that when the body and sleeves join at the underarm, they are worked simultaneously. But, instead of the common raglan or circular yoke shaping, they LOOK like set-in sleeves. What!?! Yes. That's why I love them.
This pattern is available as an individual PDF download, or in a kit from WEBS. It's knitted using Northampton, by Valley Yarns (aka WEBS), and is sized to fit between 28" to 58" chest circumference.
Let me know what you think! Is this sweater simply perfect, or what?!?
