The Casco Cap pattern is here! July 27, 2021 16:36

If you've been following my blog or subscribed to my newsletter for a bit, you may remember that I mentioned the Casco Cap last fall when it was published in Knit Now. I'm excited to tell you that the pattern is now available as an individual download!

There's a button below for you to save 10% off this pattern until August 7th.

Or you can get this pattern for free if you're part of my Patreon. The Casco Cap pattern is free to Shawl-level Patrons and up until August 31, 2021, so join any time!

Over the last year, I've worked with some helpful knitters to test that this republished version of the pattern is just right for each of the different sizes. And some projects have been added to Ravelry showing some great color combinations. Check them out for some ideas for your own hat.

To make the Casco Cap, the earflaps are both worked first, then stitches are cast on for the front and back of the cap, and joined to work in the round. The colorwork pattern is worked, then the crown is worked in garter stitch using the main color.

Buy from Ravelry. No coupon code necessary.
Sale ends August 7, 2021 at 11:59pm EST.

When the top of the cap is fastened off, what remains is the i-cord edging around the brim of the hat, then the cabled "braid" tails.

It's knitted using Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran, in three bold and contrasting colors, and is a fun knit to make for anyone in the family who need a little protective headwear this coming winter.
